Sisters of Swing: The Story of The Andrews Sisters (public event)
Multi-day Event (starts: Fri, Jul 9th - ends: Sun, Aug 15th, 2010)
July 9-August 15, 2010
Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm
Sundays at 2pm
A toe-tapping, finger-snapping musical tribute to the most successful female group of all time, “Sisters of Swing” introduces you to Patty, Maxene, and LaVerne Andrews: boffo box office draws and movie musical mamas whose careers spanned a quarter of a century. They sold over 90 million records – nine of them gold – and had more Top Ten hits than the Beatles or Elvis. With this live production you can follow the sisters from their early days on the road through their rise as recording stars to entertaining American GI’s overseas to splitting-up over differences. The score intermingles over 20 hit songs including "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree", “Rum and Coca-Cola”, and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." This show goes beyond the ordinary to offer a unique perspective into these women as human beings, showing how the events of their lives shaped who they became to the rest of the world.
