Mentors & tutors for youth and teens needed (public event)
Group:
Do you...
Seek out opportunities to grow as a person and connect with your community?
Have time in your life to do something fun, interesting and or meaningful?
Look to share your life experience and the challenges you've overcome to help others?
Enjoy spending time with kids and or adolescence?
Want to be a part of an organization with over 100 years helping children and youth?
Our Mentor Program works with Santa Clara County's "at-risk" youth, who are starving for positive adult attention. There are too many boys who lack strong male role models. The kind of role models we all know are irreplaceable to the process of becoming healthy young men. It's no secret that girls can never have too many healthy female adults be there for them, to listen to them and help them navigate the world, as they mature.
You Must:
be 21 or older to be a mentor
be 18 or older to be a tutor
be able to pass a criminal background check (both mentors and tutors)
be able to commit to a full year of weekly 2 hour visits (mentors only)
be able to participate in a 6 hour training
If any of this grabs your heart, sparks your interest or simply makes you wonder. Please don't hesitate to call.
