Volunteer Reading Mentor Opportunity (public event)
You can make a difference in as little as 1 hour a week by working with children in Kindergarten and 1st grade in East San Jose to increase reading and early literacy skills. Your enthusiasm and time can make a positive impact in a young person’s life by helping them be more successful academically and reach their full potential. Open up a world of fun and adventure by becoming a Reading Mentor today!
• One-on-one mentoring 1 hour a week during the school day
• Sessions beginning Fall (August 2012)
• Volunteer training and support provided
• Tuberculosis testing and finger printing will be reimbursed

Thursday, August 16, 5:30pm–8:30pm

Dates, times and location shown here are for training only. For the actual mentoring, you may choose a time slot that works best with your schedule (Mon. - Fri. between 8:30-2:30). Mentors will be asked to make an 8-10 week commitment. Mentoring will take place at Dorsa Elementary School or San Antonio Elementary School.
