WG Library: Poetry Reading by David Swanger (public event)

Willow Glen Library and Poetry Center San Jose are pleased to present David Swanger who will be reading from his work. An open mic reading will follow. All are welcome to bring a poem of their own or by a favorite poet to share.

 

David Swanger now serves as Santa Cruz County Poet Laureate. He has received fellowships in poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts and the California Arts Council and has written a book about poetry, The Poem as Process; a book about aesthetic education, Essays in Aesthetic Education; and four books of poems. His most recent book of poertry, Wayne’s College of Beauty, won the John Ciardi Prize in Poetry and was a finalist in Fore Word’s Book of the Year Awards.
