Charity Car Wash to Support RecPlus (public event)
Group:
Come on down to this car wash to raise money for the programs of Recreation Plus. Programs to be supported include Stranger Danger, a workshop that teaches children of all ages assertive ways of saying no to strangers, preventive ways to discourage strangers who intend to do harm, and self defense techniques to get away from a kidnapper, and Healthy Eating and Living (HEAL), which teaches children about nutrition and the importance of exercise.
Recreation Plus is a non-profit organization that provides low-to-no cost instruction to students of all ages. Its goal is to support learning and growth by providing an easily accessible structure through which schools and community centers can offer productive options to various populations. The main focus lies in providing opportunities for young people during after school hours, as this critical time is when many youth become engaged in activities that are unproductive and occasionally harmful.
