    This event has passed and RSVPs can no longer be submitted, but you can still post a message to this event's discussion thread.

    Between the 100F heat and some last-minute craziness, it looks like attendance was going to be very sparse for our originally scheduled meeting. Let's reschedule for Thursday, June 5, 7pm, at Coffee Society!

    Join the Social Wave Book Club for a dip into the wild and wonderful world of Jon Stewart and The Daily Show with their book, America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction.

    Amazon.com writes:
    "Featuring a foreword by Thomas Jefferson, a Dress the Supreme Court layout, and, oddly enough, a profile of George "The Iceman" Gervin, America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction, from Jon Stewart and the writers of the Emmy Award-winning The Daily Show, is by far one of the most irreverent and wittiest (and may we add smartest) political books you're likely to encounter."

    Sorry, gang. I'm not going to be able to make it tomorrow. This month has been crazy for me - I haven't started the book yet (although I intend to soon). Please let me know what you decide we should read for next month, pick a date, and I'll post it and be there with bells on.

    With the temp at 100 degrees and everyone else dropping out, I'm going to cancel too. We'll have to see when we can get together.

    Argh. I just called Larry and Miki and caught them before they left the house, so they didn't end up sitting at the coffee shop themselves. Let's reschedule this thing.

    Larry and Miki suggested Thursday, June 5. That works for me. How about you all?

    I believe it's Kathleen's turn to choose and, if she could post her choice over the next day or two, Miki and I might have a chance to check out the book and take it on the road to read.

    All;

    I'm looking to get a feel as to when might be a good time to set up our next gathering to review "Ender's Game."

    I'm not sure if I have the authorization to initiate a new announcement on SW but I'm thinking a good date might be June 26 or, if that's too soon, July 10 (the 3rd is just before the start of a three-day weekend).

    Larry
