Learn A Cartwheel Day @ California Sports Center (public event)

On Saturday, Aug 9th, 2008 California Sports Center opens its doors to the community for a celebration of the summer games and the sport of gymnastics. Between 10:00am and 12:00 noon the public can drop-in to any of the San Jose California Sports Center locations for a FREE CARTWHEEL MINI-LESSON with a gymnastics instructor. These lessons are open to boys & girls ages 3 – 16 only.

The 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the associated televised competitions will expose the sport of gymnastics to a new generation of kids. We provide a safe and structured environment to allow boys and girls to try it out. The cartwheel is a fundamental gymnastics skill requiring balance, control, flexibility, and power and a great introductory skill for kids to learn.

In addition to offering free mini-lessons, this event also marks the first day of official fundraising at California Sports Center on behalf of the Children’s Miracle Network, and in honor of National Gymnastics Day (Sept 13th).
