This event has passed and RSVPs can no longer be submitted, but you can still post a message to this event's discussion thread.

We play year round on Sundays, barring rain. We always have enough for one net, but extra nets are available should the turnout and skill level allow us to expand. We have had two nets most of the summer. Second net is for competitive three on three. Most important, bring a friend.

This is open play volleyball for experienced players. Multiple nets and fun people. Please no beginners at this time. We regularly have ten or more players. Must be able to pass the ball consistently. Most players are under 6'. All are very good sports (a requirement).

If you are a beginner, I am starting a beginner distribution list. You may email me your address and I will keep you posted on appropriate events. When we have enough response, We will host lessons, classes, and beginner leagues if you are interested.

Remember to RSVP. We need minimum six to Rsvp by friday or I will cancel on Saturday. We are planning for another great turnout. See you next week.

Please be advised we are switching to a Yahoo group. We will be collecting RSVP's there only. Sadly, Socialwave has become a small business listing with people I don't much appreciate. The site has moved away from generating group events and activities run by members, like all the other social groups I like. I don't know about you but I don't need more advertisements or spam. If the community comes back to the group, we may continue. I have talked to Sheldon several times. We are not a "Featured group" any longer. New people can't even find us. That really upsets me when I advertise to get them to the site.

Volleyballers,

I just wanted to clarify a point that Joe made.

Yes, we have drifted away from focusing on social activity groups, but that ideal wilted slowly on its own. We've gone through extraordinary efforts to stimulate the social events activity on this site the past few years, but after much money, time, and effort, we were no better off and the list of alternative options where you could do social events was growing.

As much as I wanted Social Wave to be a prime social activity events hub, there was just no way it would ever get there the way it was going. We had a choice to evolve or die and some of the adjustments we made has worked out well enough that we'll have a chance to try again in the future.

This isn't to say we aren't going to support activity groups on Social Wave in the mean time. You can go ahead and create a group right now if you want. Groups are still very much in our plans, but we don't have the resources to focus on that part right now.

Thanks for hosting this group on Social Wave for well over four years, Joe. I'm sad to see it go and I apologize to everyone who's disappointed and I hope that after some more gyrations, Social Wave can eventually be the social activity hub that I originally set off to build.

Joe's Yahoo Groups website doesn't work. Try this one:
