Beach Blanket Bow Wow! Spring Dog Festival
Sunday May 17, 10AM to 2PM, Soquel High
Catch a wave to the C-DOG Spring Dog Festival on Sunday May 17. The festival features entertainment, contests and sports for the canine set. Any dog and human team can compete in weenie bobbing, costume parade, Catch-A-Wave surfing dog photo booth, frisbee toss, tail-riffic tricks, limbo or beach ball bugaloo.
Lure coursing, raffle, terrier racing and agility activities will be open to all. Demonstrations will include a dog safety demonstration for children, lure coursing and canine agility by Living with Dogs, freestyle dog dancing team by Santa Cruz Dog Training Club, canine couture fashion show by Bark Place and Bed & Biscuits, frisbee dogs by Disc Dogs of the Golden Gate and herding dogs, Spectators may also attend the event, a $2 donation is requested.
English Bulldogs, French Bulldogs and Pugs compete in a special beauty contest. Judges will be searching for charisma, humor and exquisite bull-daciousness.
“Beach Blanket Bow Wow!” is the theme for the event, so grab your aloha shirt, bring your pup and surf on down to Soquel High. $10 per dog, people are free but donations are accepted. This is a win-win, fun for the dogs, side tickling entertainment for the humans and the proceeds benefit Annie’s Blankets and the Soquel High School Veterinary Science Program & Scholarship.
