Beach Volleyball - Rio del Mar 6/20/2009 (public event)

I have been invited, and asked to spread the word about this Saturday, 6/20. Paul B, our volleyball friend now living in Vegas (SIN CITY), is making one of his pilgrimages to his Mecca, THE BEACH. He comes a few times a year to reset his priorities and convince himself there is no place like the Bay Area (actually to visit family and friends but my reasons sound better). I got his assurances that he will not be recruiting for the Devil and taking any of my favorite players back with him. Here are the details:

Rio Del Mar, usually at the very end of Beach Dr (last parking lot), by the fire pits, he is going a bonfire (bring wood), at dusk.

Food: He is setting up the BBQ, making dogs to share. Please bring something to share and/ or grill and BYOB (drinks).

He will set up a net, get in the water, try to surf (he is old you know), and generally make you feel like you have been missing the beach your whole life. I grew up going to the beach and I feel like a novice around him. Non volleyballers are welcome. None of his family play and half the people are there to walk, talk and relax. Only the fine tuned athletes compete, between meals and beer of course.

My guess times:
he is there early, start looking for him on the beach 10am;
Lunch 12- 1pm Hot dogs (and Potluck);
Dinner 6- 7pm - after volleyball (Pot Luck and bring your own meat);
Bonfire 8:30pm as sun sets (wood appreciated).
