Spirit of Japantown Festival in San Jose! (public event)

Join in on the Spirit of Japantown Festival, Saturday, September 26, 10am-5pm with fun, food and entertainment presented on the 8 blocks surrounding the heart of San Jose Japantown at 5th Street and Jackson Street. Come and experience one of the last three major Japantowns in the U.S.!

The festival will feature live music and dance entertainment, food, wine, sake, anime, arts and crafts, flowers and plants, martial arts demonstrations, woodblock demonstrations, an import car show, cultural exhibits, an ECO-Zone, a Kids Activity Zone, and a special performance by San Jose Taiko.

We encourage you to take the VTA Light Rail to the Japantown/Ayer Station, or peddle your way into town. For more information on the Spirit of Japantown Festival, please visit our website.

And before the SJ Taiko, there is a performance by the San Jose Metropolitan Band starting at 11:15am. We're playing some fun tunes (I play lead trumpet). Come on out & enjoy and say 'hi' if you get a chance. And this just in - our tune list:
