Scarecrow Making Workshop (public event)
THE SCARECROW-BUILDING WORKSHOP IS STILL GOING ON, BUT SHELDON AND I HAVE CANCELLED OUR PERSONAL RESERVATION BECAUSE OF LACK OF INTEREST HERE AND A LINGERING COLD. IF ANYONE GOES, LET US KNOW HOW IT IS!!
O.k., gang! Get that creativity flowing and join us for Guadalupe Park River & Gardens' Scarecrow Making Workshop!!! This should be a fun way to celebrate the fall season.
Sheldon and I will sponsor the first scarecrow at $15 and reserve a spot for our Social Wave group. If we get more than 6 RSVPs (including us), we'll start up a second team and we can all discuss how to pay for the second $15 scarecrow.
Here's the write-up in the Campbell Express:
Gather up your family, friends, scout troup, or co-workers for a great morning together making a scarecrow for your porch or garden. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with each other and let your collective creativity flow! Additionally, all scarecrows will be invited to participate in the Friends of Guadalupe Park River & Gardens' sponsored Scarecrow Contest at Pumpkins in the Park on Saturday, October 14, 2006
The workshop will be held at the Guadalupe Park River & Gardens Visitor and Education Center, 9am-12pm (drop-in hours are 9:30am-11:30am). One scarecrow allowed per group. The cost is $15 per scarecrow, and scarecrow building materials are included in the workshop fees. Choose from a variety of shirts, pants, decorations, and plenty of stuffing to construct your scarecrow. Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Space is limited, so reserve your spot early. For more information and to reserve a spot, please phone 408-298-7657. Visa and Mastercard payments are accepted via phone.
