Bamboo Reef: Monterey Fun Dive (public event)

Join the Lighthouse District's Bamboo Reef each month for our Fun Dives from the shores of Monterey, Carmel, and the Big Sur Coast. We welcome all levels of divers, and will have dive professionals on hand to assist you. Buddy and group dives are organized; then we all get together afterwards to share a meal and recount the day's adventures.

Most dives will be in small, guided groups (usually with no more than 4 people), while our experienced divers may buddy dive. (A dive leader will be present at the site and may choose to break the group up depending on conditions.)

The cost is $10 per diver. Simply arrive at Bamboo Reef on Lighthouse Avenue before 9am (earlier if you need to rent equipment) where we'll announce the intended location for the day. Dive spots are chosen depending on weather and water conditions; we scout the beaches that morning to find the best diving the day has to offer.

All Fun Dive participants must have some coldwater diving experience and must provide their own equipment (equipment is available for rent), a c-card, a sense of adventure, and a desire to explore Monterey waters in a safe, enjoyable setting. Private guides are available at a slight additional cost if you have no Monterey diving experience or feel like you need one-on-one attention.
