Monterey Bay Aquarium: Hot Pink Flamingos Exhibit Opens (public event)

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is pleased to announce its newest exhibition, Hot Pink Flamingos: Stories of Hope in a Changing Sea, opening March 29, 2010!

Hot Pink Flamingos will show you the impacts of climate change through the eyes of amazing animals like flamingos, wading birds, corals, jellies, sea turtles, and penguins. You'll also discover how people around the world are fighting climate change in positive and practical ways.

The exhibit's seven galleries will feature many species new to the Aquarium: Chilean flamingoes, white and scarlet ibises, roseate spoonbills, cattle egrets, American bitterns, and Magellanic penguins. In other live exhibits, you'll find rainbow-colored tropical fishes, intricate corals, tropical jellies, and young sea turtles.
