Volunteers Needed for Los Gatos Creek Clean Up! (public event)
Group:
Everyone is invited to volunteer at this year's Los Gatos Creek Clean Up. The goal of this event is to remove as much trash, debris, and recyclables as possible out of our local stream.
In honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the goal is to get at least 40 volunteers out on Saturday, April 17th from 9am-11am. We'll meet at Campbell Park (corner of Gilman and East Campbell Avenues) and clean up the section of the creek that runs from the park to Camden Avenue.
Volunteering at a clean up event helps to keep our communities beautiful for everyone's enjoyment. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to meet new people, get outside, and volunteer in a stress-relieving, natural setting. Our clean up day is also a great way to fulfill a community service requirement. Individuals, clubs, and classes are welcome and encouraged to come out and participate.
Registration will begin at 8:45am, with trash bags, gloves, and refreshments provided. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear and clothing. Parking will be available at the Campbell Inn (675 E. Campbell Ave) located across from the park. The clean up will be followed by a free community BBQ cooked by Santa Clara County Firefighters.
If you would like more information or would like to RSVP, please phone Frances Grammer at the Office of Assemblymember Jim Beall, 408-282-8920.
