The staff of the City of Campbell will conduct a meeting for Campbell residents on Tuesday, May 28, 7pm-8:30pm, to present information regarding a potential ordinance restricting the use of single-use carryout bags within the City of Campbell.  This community meeting, open to all residents of Campbell, will take place in the Orchard City Banquet Hall of the Campbell Community Center.  (Please note: there will be a separate meeting for Campbell business owners and retailers on Tuesday, May 21, 1:30pm-3pm.)The single-use carryout bag ordinance is currently in the development stage and has not yet been passed. If this ordinance were passed, stores would be required to charge a minimum of ten cents per paper or reusable bag.  Restaurants would be exempt.  Please click here to download a sheet the City has prepared to answer frequently asked questions.

Tiny Tots Diaper Service & Baby Boutique in Downtown Campbell presents a class in Infant CPR. New and expectant parents learn skills in this two hour class that will enable them to recognize basic infant emergencies such as sudden respiratory/cardiac arrest and choking, and how to respond to them. Students participate in hands-on practice using infant mannequins. This is a non-certification class. Taught by Jane Folena, Pediatric RN, Red Cross and American Heart Association CPR Instructor, and neonatal resuscitation instructor. $75 per couple (sharing the same mannequin) or $45 per person. The Working Mom's Circle meets the 1st Wed. of each month and is for all the working mamas who wish to share stories, tricks, tips, secrets, and anything else about life. We will discuss a new topic each visit which may include maintaining balance in the household, relationships - including yourself, your partner/spouse, your family & friends - exercise, weight loss, time management, meal preparation - with recipe sharing and the-evening-of quick meal fixes...and, of course, having fun! The flow of the group is very fluid. It will change and evolve as the needs of the participants warrant it to. You are welcome to bring your baby if you wish, however we have scheduled it late enough that it might be a nice time just for yourself to grab a cup of tea or coffee and come chat with other moms. From 9 to noon at Tiny Tots Baby Boutique, Safe Kids (of Santa Clara/San Mateo) will offer personal instruction from certified technicians on the proper use and installation of child safety seats. A $10 fee is required to reserve a space. This fee will be donated for further educational efforts toward proper car seat installations along with the purchase of car seats for those in need.
