Scholze Park Community Center is pleased to present a diabetic support group for adults on the second Thursday of every month. The support group is organized and run by Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) Nutrition Services Department and is free and open to the public.Participants will have an opportunity to discuss topics of heath and diet and also share personal experiences in a round table setting. A skilled nurse from CHOMP will provide tips, answers to questions, and resources to help each individual cope with this common disease.

Get back to the slopes with On The Beach Surf Shop, which is pleased to announce our winter trips to Kirkwood Mountain Resort to enjoy some winter fun in the great Tahoe powder.We will be leaving On The Beach at 3am sharp on our 47-passenger Euro-coach (with airline style seating, bathroom, and multiple TV screens). Want to know how you, your friends, and family can be safer in the event of an emergency?  Monterey CERT is offering a free class in emergency preparedness, including emergency medical response, fire extinguisher use, shutting off utilities, search and rescue techniques, and much more. The class will be held on February 11, 18, and 19.We encourage community members, including local merchants, to consider attending the class and learning important emergency response skills.
