Want to know how you, your friends, and family can be safer in the event of an emergency?  Monterey CERT is offering a free class in emergency preparedness, including emergency medical response, fire extinguisher use, shutting off utilities, light search and rescue techniques, and much more. The class will be held on May 26, June 2, and June 9, 8:30am-4:30pm.We encourage community members, including local merchants, to consider attending the class and learning important emergency response skills. Classes are open to everyone age 13 and up.  There is no charge to attend this program for people who live or work in Monterey, Pacific Grove, or Carmel! Join the Lighthouse District's Bamboo Reef each month for our Fun Dives from the shores of Monterey, Carmel, and the Big Sur Coast. We welcome all levels of divers, and will have dive professionals on hand to assist you. Buddy and group dives are organized; then we all get together afterwards to share a meal and recount the day's adventures.Most dives will be in small, guided groups (usually with no more than 4 people), while our experienced divers may buddy dive. (A dive leader will be present at the site and may choose to break the group up depending on conditions.) The cost is $10 per diver.
