In order to be accepted as a Social Wave member with full privileges to the site, your member registration must first be approved by an administrator. Most of our new members are able to register without a hitch, but we're not able to approve some registrants their first time around. Here are some common reasons why.
- Not a Silicon Valley Resident
Social Wave is a Silicon Valley only service. We generally discourage people who live outside of Silicon Valley or have no ties to Silicon Valley to pass on creating a new member account. If you don't live in Silicon Valley, but really want an account anyway, we'll let you in, but there may not be much here to keep you interested.
- Member information was fake or falsified.
Fake identities are not allowed on Social Wave. Your registration will be rejected if you aren't who you say you are. Anyone caught impersonating another person without that person's consent will be permanently banned from Social Wave.
- Duplicate Account
If you already have a user account on the system, you will be asked to close one first unless you have a specific reason for needing more than one Social Wave account.
- Banned User Status
Users who have been banned for violating Social Wave's member policies will not be allowed to re-apply for new member accounts. Depending on the severity of the offense, banned members may request reinstatement by contacting us through our support pages.
