Social Wave provides all owners of a merchant profile with the ability to generate secure coupon images using our Coupon Generator. This tool will compose coupons with your text and an optional logo printed against a background image. The coupon generated is actually an image rather than usual plain text to prevent people from tampering with your offers.

Image Placement

You may embed a logo or other branding image in your coupon to customize it. You have two placement options for your image: a Top Centered placement and a Left Justified placement.

Examples of Coupon Layouts
Top Centered (Landscape) placement works best if you have a long logo or banner to add as your image. Left Justified (Portrait) placement accomodates tall or square logos better. If you do not upload an image when creating your coupon, Top Centered will be used and the name of your business will appear across the top instead of a banner image/logo.
Uploading Images for Your Coupon
Images uploaded for your coupon are subject to certain size restrictions.
  • Images for Top Centered mode must be no larger than 350px x 60px (width x height)
  • Images for Left Justified mode must be no larger than 150px x 150px (width x height)
Images exceeding the size restrictions will be automatically resized when your coupon is generated. For best results, you should make sure that your image is no larger than the maximum dimensions for the mode you've selected. While we can make your image fit, the automatically resized image most likely won't look as good as an image you resize yourself.
Preserving Transparency in Uploaded Images
If you wish to preserve transparency in the logo you upload and have the background of the coupon show through your coupon, be sure to upload your image as either a .GIF or .PNG format image saved with the proper transparency settings. JPG format images will always be opaque and appear as a square or rectangle against the coupon background.
Coupon Backgrounds
A faded background image is used as the background of the coupon to prevent tampering with your coupons. Most merchant profiles will use the Social Wave logo image as the background security image. Merchants belonging to certain groups such as the Downtown Campbell Business Association or the Willow Glen Business Association have their own backgrounds. In the future, we expect to provide other backgrounds that you can choose to customize your coupons to a greater degree.
