Come visit Garofalo's and you’ll find all sorts of in-house creations and hand picked décor and gift items from local artisans and select manufacturers to brighten your home with. If you need a plant holder with a story, we’ve got one made out of a sturdy old chair, a bit of creativity, and a coat of new paint. To help you put away your mail, we’ve created a one of a kind mail file made from a rake. Want some more greenery on your back patio? A wall mounted plant hanger created from a salvaged iron gate may be just the thing you’re looking for.

Garofalo's inventory is unique with many one-of-a-kind items made by Megan and Cyndi. They have the gift of taking what most would discard and repurposing them into treasures for your home and garden. At Garofalo’s we love finding new uses for everyday objects like rakes, doors, chairs, and iron gates. The result is a timeless style of decorating that’s unique, environmentally friendly, and more meaningful than a living room full of items ordered by numbers from a showroom catalog. Our distinct style has earned us high honors like being chosen as the featured interiors showroom vendor for the prestigious Autumn in the Rose Garden Homes Tour.

Since many of our items are one-of-a-kind, our stock is constantly rotating, but we have a set number of decorating themes that we interpret and reinterpret as our inventory and the seasons change. Take a look at the store photos on our gallery page to get a peek at some of these themes in action.

Part of what makes many of our items special is that there’s a history behind them. A coffee table that you get from us might be made from materials salvaged from a historic house in one of the oldest neighborhoods in San Jose. One of the great joys of finding new uses for old things is discovering the past that’s being carried forward and you’ll find stories about where things came from attached to many of the items in our store.

About the Owner and Manager

Cyndi Garofalo & Megan Sempek
Cyndi Garofalo is a South Bay native who was born and raised in Santa Clara and Almaden before making rounds in Oregon and Colorado before returning back to live and open a business in Campbell. She’s never bored, considers small town retail a family tradition, and absolutely loves power tools.

Back in Colorado, Cyndi also owned a home décor store, but one styled more to the tastes of the Rocky Mountain ranchers. After moving back to the Bay Area, she knew that she wanted he own store again, but one with less cowboy hat (a lot less). While working as a sales consultant for Z-Gallerie and Traditions furniture store in Menlo Park, she ran into Megan Sempek, the younger sister of one of her old friends from high school. Cyndi immediately tabbed Megan to be her future store manager after seeing the way Megan decorated at home.

Megan’s been a vital part of Garofalo’s since day one. She’s has a knack for ephemera and a talent for arranging flowers (working as a florist at Bob Gilmore’s Floral seems to have rubbed off a bit).
