About the Owner/Principal

Judith Enright
Judith began producing tile and pottery in 1993 and started her studio in San Jose the following year.

After moving to her current location, she began looking at ways to promote education in the ceramic arts. Her mission: To provide high-quality instruction with a focus on individual learning, and a flexible schedule to accommodate students' busy lives. Classes began in 2001, and although the facility, programs and services have evolved since then, Judith's commitment to excellence remains the same. Her classes are small (up to 4 students, and sometimes just 1!), guaranteeing each student lots of personal attention and rapid growth.

In her personal art career, Judith launched a line of award-winning sculptures called the Ultimate Urban Pet series, which got the attention of the folks at HGTV who taped a segment of her making one of these sculptures in her studio. One of her dog sculptures won an award in Best of California Artists & Artisans 2006, and the San Jose Mercury News published an article about them in February 2008. Animal lovers regularly commission clay likenesses of their domestic companions, keeping Judith busy year 'round.

Judith serves on the board of the Orchard Valley Ceramic Arts Guild, and regularly contributes to local community service clay projects. She shares her life with her husband, three dogs and a cat, in San Jose.
