Social Wave Reviews

RATING:

Thumbs Up!
I was referred to Kirkwood VW by a couple of Social Wave members a while back and I wanted to take my car in a few times first before writing a review. I was tired of having to drive a ways to get my 2000 Passat serviced at the dealership shop and was hoping to save a bit on my car maintenance costs.

I just took my car in for my third maintenance with them and I have no complaints whatsover and I'm estimating that I ended up only paying half the price of what I would have had to pay at the dealership shop. As far as I can tell, the workmanship on the maintenance services was just as good... no it was better. I don't have any objective measure to go by, but I swear my car felt like it ran smoother than it ever did after the first time I had my car serviced there.

If you just want good honest work done on your VW, Kirkwood VW is a great place to go. It's a no frills experience, so if you're one of those people who likes to be coddled and treated like royalty from a cheerful team of "sales mechanics" who see to it that your car is washed before you pick it up, you might want to stick with the dealership shops. On the other hand, with the money you'll save, I'm sure you can take it to a car wash yourself. There's actually one a few hundred feet from their shop.

I agree with the first review. I've taken my 99 Passat there for a while and I have always been satisfied with the service and price. Way better than a dealer.

You must not take your Audi to the dealership unless it is for warranty repair! After getting a quote of over $2,400 for just my front brakes, I really had no choice but to look elsewhere. For the identical parts and labor, Adam was able to do it for one sixth of the dealerships price. I found Adam to be much more knowledgeable & competent than even the factory trained mechanics who upon my last visit forgot to put oil in my engine! Crazy, but its true. You will find Adam treats his customers like family..... but if you like the abuse, the dealership will bring it with a smile.

VW Jetta had coolant issue and other places suggested replacing everything quoting over $1000. Adam was very quick in getting to the source of the leak and very patient in handling my questions. Job was done in a matter of hours and cost me half the amount. I will go back for any future issue and hope to have a long term relationship.

Cheers.

Adam has handled any repair issues with my '59 Bug wonderfully. He's the go-to VW mechanic in the South Bay!

I was lucky to find Adam @ Kirkwood close to where I live and have brought my 91 Vanagon Westfalia to him for service. He does great work at a good price and seems to be a real honest, nice guy. Highly recommended.
