Come in to Amir's Grill and Bar and enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. In addition to our delicious kabobs, marinated with pureed onions, garlic, and fine spices and made to order, we serve a variety of traditional Afghan appetizers, soups, salads, and desserts all priced right for your budget. We also have a full bar and live entertainment or dancing on certain nights.

 

Owner and head chef Mukhtar Amir, whose family left Afghanistan when he was a child, bases many of the menu items on family recipes. A graduate of the CSUMB School of Business, he opened the restaurant in 2005 as a labor of love. He and his wife, Dolores, strive to make all their guests feel comfortable and welcome, and to offer the best meal around. They are very pleased that Amir's Grill and Bar was voted Best Middle Eastern Restaurant by Monterey County Weekly readers in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
