Owner and head chef Mukhtar Amir, whose family left Afghanistan when he was a child, bases many of the menu items on family recipes. A graduate of the CSUMB School of Business, he opened the restaurant in 2005 as a labor of love. He and his wife, Dolores, strive to make all their guests feel comfortable and welcome, and to offer the best meal around. They are very pleased that Amir's Kabob House was voted Best Middle Eastern Restaurant by Monterey County Weekly readers in 2008 and 2009.

Every Saturday night, enjoy dinner and a show! At 6:30pm and 8pm, we offer a belly dancing show by professional dancer Jamaica Sinclair. There is no additional charge for the show beyond the price of our regular dinner menu.
