About the Henry Junsay, owner
I was born in Fort Ord, California and have lived on the Monterey Peninsula my entire life. I've been married for 28 years (also a local gal) and have 2 boys. We both come from large families with 6 children. We love to host parties with lots of family, friends and great BBQ!
I began working in restaurants at age 16. I started as a dishwasher and worked my way up to sous-chef and head line cook. After 10 years in restaurants, I worked with a caterer. I did this for 7 years and catered parties from BBQs to elegant dinners. Wanting to try something new, I began my career as a butcher. I was trained by the best and did that for 15 years (and catered for my employers' markets during that time). Last year I decided it was time to open my own place--yes, even with the poor economy! It's been alot of work, but I love it. It's all worth it when my customers tell me that they've enjoyed their meal.
