Link to Literacy is not your typical tutoring center. We provide individualized educational therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults who experience difficulty learning in conventional ways.

We believe everyone can learn. There can be many different obstacles to learning. We search to find the cause of each client's difficulty and provide solutions based on his or her specific needs. Sometimes we work on modifying existing learning patterns, and sometimes we create new ones. Often, we do both. We develop and implement unique approaches to learning that work for each individual. This takes time and effort, but our clients are definitely worth it.

We understand the connection between learning and emotion. We know thoughts and behaviors can either further or interfere with learning. That's why we provide a nurturing environment where clients can express their feelings related to learning and gain the courage they need to make positive changes. Within this environment, clients feel secure enough to take on the challenges they face.

We appreciate the value of teamwork. It is important for us to gain the distinct insight of others involved in our clients' lives. We seek to work together with families, teachers, and/or employers, involving them in the process. In addition, we consult with other professionals working with our clients to ensure a consistent approach. Our aim is to foster open communication and cooperation for the benefit of our clients.

We recognize the importance of independence. It's not enough that our clients are successful with our support; they must become successful on their own as well. That's why we teach and encourage self-monitoring, active learning, and self-advocacy strategies. When our clients are ready, we support them in their steps to independence, giving them the confidence to succeed.
