Hello Daaahling! I'm Deb, Proprietor at Simply Smashing! I am a California native, spending most of my life in the Bay Area. I have always been interested in fashion, shopping specialty boutiques - the funkier the better - from the ripe old age of 12 or so! In my teens and early twenties, I spent time in vintage boutiques, mixing couture and casual to create a distinctive look. Some years back, I began tossing around the idea of starting my own business, and I've been researching and networking ever since. One marriage, two children, a career in office management, and what seems like a lifetime later, I was presented with an opportunity to represent a custom clothing line.

After about a year and a half of conducting trunk shows at people's homes and other venues, I decided to open a small boutique where I could display my wares in a pleasing manner and offer trunk shows on site. O.k., truth be told, I just wasn't cut out for lugging the goods from place to place - setting up and breaking down. I had visions of my own special place, where women and their daughters could enjoy the atmosphere. Campbell, with its family- and community-oriented nature, appeared to be a prime location for this new venture. Success! That was in late 2000, and my "little boutique that could" has been evolving ever since. I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of growth and positive changes that have become Simply Smashing! and look forward to more of the same.
