About johnww2
johnww2 lost some and won some, and wound up embracing the chaotic principle best described in discordian literature.
now he's trying to use the talents and resources he already has, while avoiding excessive quests for novelty and distraction. nevertheless, he still has too many diversified interests to ever be able to focus on achieving anything notable in a single field of endeavor.
although still a typical self-interested jerk, he does try to allocate some attention to his wife and 2 daughters, especially when he feels guilty about being too self absorbed.
while not a natural born leader, he steps up to the role on occasion when he gets bored or otherwise times out on his patience LIMIT waiting for something to happen.

Unusual facts and stories about me
I met Sheldon before the internet exploded, on local bbses, like spies in the wire, tbit, and chelsea. That was around the time I returned from LA after having failed out of engineering. I had no friends in S.J. They all moved away. But through the bbses I made a bunch of new friends. Around that time I was airbrushing t-shirts at Great America. Then I worked in a Japanese restaurant for 2 years. We bbs folkes used to meet and drink coffee at "Woman with a Wig Lyons."
Places I've lived in
Born and raised in San Jose. I've visited Germany (with 2 days in Paris), Japan (1 month), Hong Kong, Taiwan (twice), and I recently traveled to China (Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an.) I spent 3 years of college in Los Angeles trying to become an Aerospace engineer, but had more fun in Air Force ROTC instead.
About my favorite childhood toy
Paper &pencil wargames like Star Fleet Battles & Squad Leader. I remember riding my bike to "The Game Table" in old town Campbell. The store was full of D&D and Wargame stuff, and smelled of body odor in the summer.
Best compliment ever given or received
"You're a Japanese"
You're a dude
The store I'd max out my credit card at
Since I'm now a homeowner, married with kids, and no social life, I guess I'd buy lots of power tools, high quality wood, and gardening supplies. I wouldn't pick Home Depot though, because their selection is limited to high volume, average quality stuff.
Pet peeves and other annoyances
I don't like people who want to avoid thinking by deciding they know everything, or rely too much on stereotypes and hasty conclusions. The world is shades of grey, and contradictions are the rule. The more you learn, the more you see how little you know. "Belief is the death of thinking"
Favorite quote/odd fact
Most Asian people have dry flakey ear wax. Most Caucasian & African people have wet, oily ear wax.
