About spfa
Artist Sonya Paz is creating a new direction in the Pop Art movement through her exuberant use of color and playful forms. Bold shapes and vibrant colors leap off her canvases, while her images explode in an energetic and wildly whimsical style. Come to the Campbell location and check out the new "Retro Pop Art Vending Machine", a tad of nostalgia in a modern pop art setting!
Sonya's paintings and vivid images are a reflection of her California roots and her active lifestyle. Her positive, creative attitude and passionate expression represent an optimistic view of the world. Her works are inspired by the Cubist movement as well as from American Pop Art. Seasoned by traveling the world to study art and its history.
Sonya has a passion for Modern Art, Pop Art, Cubism, Modernism and Surrealism. These influences, combined can be seen in much of her work, where traditional styles compete with energetic pop art images of the past 25 years.
Sonya is a member and recently elected Vice President of the Artists Guild of San Francisco. Over the past few years her art has been exhibited at a number of venues; these include Gordon Biersch, MJ Schaer Gallery, Bacchus and Venus Gallery, International ArtExpo 2004 and returning again in March 2005.
Sonya has recently opened up her own fine art gallery in Santa Clara, CA and her works are also being represented across the USA; South Miami Beach, Napa Valley and Detroit. She is currently working on an exclusive label for a Livermore Valley Winery, and her work is featured in many local wineries and in various restaurants around the country.
Sonya has donated art and worked with many charities to raise funds. She has also painted two sharks that were auctioned at the SharkByte Art Event in downtown San Jose on 2002.
Sonya's artwork has been selected for the Sausalito Art Festival t-shirt design for 2004 and the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts in August 2004.
Sonya has established a solid private and corporate clientele. Her works of art have been acquired by many collectors throughout the United States and can be found in collections in Australia, Canada, Chile, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malta in the Maltese Islands, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, Switzerland and Turkey. Sonya is a native Californian. She lives in San Jose.
