True to the promise of their ads, Yahoo's DSL Pro does indeed deliver double the bandwidth of their regular DSL offering. I ran a speed test on 2wire.com and my connection speed jumped from a max of 1400 Kbps to 2900 Kbps.

Unfortunately that's when I run the speed test at 4am. At any other time of day, I'm getting all the speed I'm not getting with the normal service. During more reasonable times of day, I'm lucky when the bandwidth meter breaks 500 Kbps. There's been no change of actual performance from their regular DSL service.

It only cost about a buck a month more to upgrade to their DSL Pro service, so I'm not complaining much, but if you're considering the upgrade and it costs you more than it cost me, I'd do a bit more research into the actual performance that you'd expect.
