Review Title: Second Time's A Charm For Me with T-Mobile [ View All Reviews ]

Thumbs Up!
I've gone back to T-Mobile after being locked into a dead Cingular service contract for the past two years. My first trip around with T-Mobile wasn't much of a joy ride, but things have definitely improved in part two. The first time I had one of the original Sidekicks and had spotty service and horrible phone reception. The limitations of the phone features on the device probably had something to do with it too though. My service was worst at home, which is obviously a big problem.

I went back to T-Mobile because some current T-Mobile customers had told me their phone service was fine. I was still a little apprehensive, but given that they're the only other carrier for the two phone devices that would suit my
needs (Blackberry 8700 or Sidekick III), I had to just cross my fingers and hope that things improved.

I went to the Westgate store in San Jose this weekend and transferred my number over to a new T-Mobile account and picked up a BlackBerry 8700. The sales guy there, Jeff Hua, was terrific and provided excellent service. He took care of everything for me. The only paperwork I had to do was sign and date a few things. The data features started working immediately and by the end of the day, I was able to send and receive calls with my new smart phone using the same phone number as I had before--easiest switch I've ever made (or had made for me).

The real test would be the reception when I tried to use the phone at home. I only get 2 bars at home, but that doesn't seem to be a problem because except for a few blips, the reception so is significantly better than I've ever had at home, even with AT&T.
