Review Title: Costumes & Clothes at Park Place Vintage "Great if your you [ View All Reviews ]

Thumbs Down
I took my two teen-aged daughters to Park Place to each buy a dress for their 1950's themed highschool dance. The seemingly large selection of costume/clothing turned out to be nothing but a size small or smaller.

When the lady did finally find something that fit the girls, it was absolutely inappropriate for their ages. The Hot Pink Lolita Marilyn look wasn't what I had in mind, based on the website and
advertisements.

In the end, it came down to one med/large handmade pink ladies jacket with one medium sized (skin tight) basic pink t-shirt and two felt poodle skirts for 35 dollars each. ($35 for felt poodle cut-out glued onto a felt bell shaped cutout, glued on string of sequins and a hand stitched unflattering elastic sinched band of a waist).

I didn't have the heart to tell the sales woman what I really thought about how she had the girls looking. As far as the rest of the store goes, I did see some really neat things that would look great in my kitchen.

I have to be honest and say "thumbs down" when it comes to shopping for the average sized woman at this store. In all fairness, I say "thumbs up" if your looking to redecorate your home in the style of a 1950's sockhop. Funstuff = "two thumbs up"
