Review Title: Dishonest and incompetent [ View All Reviews ]

Everywhere I've been in the U.S. Pep Boys has a well-deserved reputation for being dishonest and incompetent. They are condescending and will charge you for any unnecessary thing they can think of. My most recent and worst experience was with a Pep Boys in Albuquerque. They had recently given me a starter which went bad about a month later. I went in, told them the starter was bad, and waited an hour while they determined that they could not check the starter until I bought a new batter, which I knew to be a lie. I bought a new battery and they finally determined that yes, the starter they sold me was bad. After they replaced it about 2 hours later I returned the new batter I bought (of course the old one works just fine). Throughout they made no effort whatsoever to ensure customer satisfaction, only to try to wring as much money from me as they could.
