Review Title: Service Magic is Horrible [ View All Reviews ]

I used Service Magic a few years ago. Around three years and the contractor they sent me was a complete fraud. His work was horrible and he kept changing his price after the contracts were written up and said this will be extra and that will be extra things that are all inclusive in a particular job. For instance painting to pick a color or brand of my choice is more he wanted to use what he had on his truck and did! He destroyed my kitchen cabinets and laid down our floor which had to be redone. All his work or lack of work had to all be redone and he cost me $6000.00, that I would have to sue to get back after him taking 8 months to do his horrible job. Service Magic only pays up to 500.00 dollars back on one botched job not more after you write letters and send them tons of paper work and they send some joker out to inspect work it is a total fraud company. The worst part is they did not post my review the way I wrote it they shortened it and made it so that it was not a bad review at all and they still advertise for the same contractor. It is very pathetic. DO NOT USE SERVICE MAGIC ASK FRIENDS, FAMILY OR COWORKERS FOR LICENSED CONTRACTORS PLUMBERS OR ELECTRICIANS EVEN ASK A NEIGHBOR USE LOCAL PEOPLE IT IS THE BEST AND SAFEST ROUTE TO GO. My husband and I both learned our lessen the hard way. These advertising so called prescreened contractors are really fradulent company's out to make money they are business men that are paid by these contractors to advertise for them and give them good reviews period and the consumers are the victims.
