Service Majic in CanadaService Majic offers existing companies to join their team, in return for a small fee they hook you up with clients needing your services. They also try and adjust areas most suited for your company success. As a service Majic client my business have to be registered with the City, or Government, be licensed to carry on trade, have at leas $1000,000.00 liability insurance, varify my identity with their staff.View Full Review >> Date Added: 16 October 2009

Home Improvement HuntA short time ago we were interested in sprucing up our 40-plus year-old home and decided to start by replacing old, drafty single pane windows with double-pane/UV protected upgrades. Not knowing where to start looking, I “googled” “window replacement san jose” and got a hit on www.servicemagic.com. From their site I made a variety of entries in their multiple screens and received references to four companies. View Full Review >> Date Added: 19 January 2007

Service Magic TruthFirst of all depending on how many leads your company would like to recieve per month determines how much you pay per lead Starting at $9 per lead.If you dont get any leds you dont pay. There is no monthly fee just a one time $99 registration fee that includes them making you a web site.View Full Review >> Date Added: 6 December 2008

Service Magic stole our identity!!After repeated calls from Service Magic asking us to sign up for their service, I finally agreed to give it a try in January 2011. They were offering no sign up fees, the only requirement was that we have valid liability insurance. The way the service works is there is a charge for every contractor that receives a "lead" and I was told that each lead would go to three contractors in our area.View Full Review >> Date Added: 2 March 2011

SERVICE MAGIC CHERRY PICKS THEIR REVIEWS!! RED FLAGS!I just would like to share my BAD experience through SERVICE MAGIC. When we tried to hire contractors through their site. I have heard of them and you prob. have heard of them too. If you are like us, we hire contractors for works we cannot do ourselves and the process is stressful sometimes.View Full Review >> Date Added: 9 May 2010

Service Magic is HorribleI used Service Magic a few years ago. Around three years and the contractor they sent me was a complete fraud. His work was horrible and he kept changing his price after the contracts were written up and said this will be extra and that will be extra things that are all inclusive in a particular job.View Full Review >> Date Added: 23 January 2010

Service MagicService Magic often gives bogus leads they have a reputation for being disreputable. I would not recommend any contractor or customer to them. I use www.worktiger.com instead, its free and a much better site. I would rather have free leads than bogus leads that I paid for!View Full Review >> Date Added: 20 August 2009

Service Magic stinksI used to be a Service Magic Contractor. I had great reviews and earned them. I am saddened but not surprised that I am reading about Service magic doing unethical things. They abuse the contractors in a big way financially. Basically they are a huge ripoff to small contractors even if they are good ones such as myself.View Full Review >> Date Added: 25 February 2009

from a service magic contractorI have been a contractor working with Service Magic for around 1 month and so far have had 9 leads for entire roof replacements. 5 have been bogus, 3 turned out to be legitimate estimates, and 1 was out of my area. They sell each lead for $55 to 2-3 other contractors.View Full Review >> Date Added: 5 June 2008

Contractors Beware! We finally contracted with Service Magic to furnish leads for our Window Treatment Company after their salesman called us everyday twice a day.1 out of the first 6 leads was worth going out on. That customer didn't have the decency to email or call me back after I spent hours meeting with her and costing out her job. View Full Review >> Date Added: 13 May 2008

Service Magic Falsely statesMore honestly they charge contractors @ $250. a month to list their names on their site, then I have heard, additionally charge contractors another fee per referral, even if the referral is bogus. They are really not much more than a \\\"middle-man\\\". They do verify the contractors license, but this could be done very easily by going to the department of consumer protection website, in your state, where you can look up the contractor\\\'s license # on your own. ServiceMagic SucksSo, since you still owe the final payment to the contractor (you were to pay him in installments a quarter of the estimate at a time), who has gone out of business ( and abandoned his home) and skipped the state owing the supply houses for the materials (that are now placed as a lien on your house even though you paid for them thru him) and has left no forwarding address, and the work is far from "quality" (oh, but it passed the county final inspection, too bad it was not raining then!View Full Review >> Date Added: 11 February 2008

Disappointing experience with ServiceMagicI had a completely unsatisfactory experience with this service. After filling out a long-ish questionnaire about my service needs and spending time figuring out how to navigate their website, I waited for over a week for a response. The very FIRST response I received about my request was from ServiceMagic customer support, asking if I was satisfied with their service.View Full Review >> Date Added: 20 November 2007
