It&#39;s believed to be an accident and as if that wasn&#39;t enough of a bombshell, the person believed to be piloting the doomed plane was Cory Lidle, a one-time pitcher for the Oakland A&#39;s that was recently signed by the New York Yankees. RIP Cory Lidle. The manager, Felipe Alou, gave him the day off to rest some injuries and soreness so he managed to score a grounds crew uniform for Petco Park. About a month ago, Katie Brownell, an 11 year old little leaguer in upstate New York pitched a perfect game.  She not only pitched a perfect game, she struck out EVERYONE on the other team.             <description><![CDATA[I guess MLB didn&#39;t want the NHL to have all the drama this winter and they&#39;re having themselves one hell of an offseason.  Think of the big star power that&#39;s hop-scotchin&#39; over the border and into the other clubhouse.  When this whole offseason thing started the Yankees looked like they ran out of time to buy at any price and now they&#39;ve just landed Randy Johnson and their pitching staff doesn&#39;t look as laughable anymore.  <br><br>The Anaheim Angels want to become the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  Wow, say that three times fast.  How dumb does this sound?  Maybe they can shorten it to the LAAA or Triple-A for short.  <br><br>The Expos went National and then they didn&#39;t, but now they are again.  <br><br>Giambi went verbose on the skinny about the juice and Bonds just went "huh?".<br><br>David Wells is wearing Red Soxs and Pedro Martinez will bat against Mark Mulder at Busch Stadium.  Mark Mulder in turn will pitch to Tim Hudson in Atlanta.  Rich Harden is now Billy Beane&#39;s ace of the Oakland rotation.  <br><br>What next?<br>]]></description>
