What's PKN? In short, it's a presentation form where presenters use exactly 20 slides for their presentations, and spend 20 seconds on each slide.

Why? Because it fosters getting to the heart of the presentation faster, keeping it essential, and keeping the audience engaged.

What kind of presentations? Primarily creative, new thought, maker, designer, entertainer presenters talking about their own work and why it matters.

When is the first PKN-SJ? October 20th, at The Improv in downtown San Jose. Doors will open around 7:30pm, and the presentations start shortly after 8pm.

We have an ArtWalk in Downtown Campbell every third Friday of the month.

Artists are welcome to display and sell their work during the ArtWalks! I would be the go-between -- help the artist pick a location and such.

The location would be inside a participating shop, boutique or gallery, or possibly on the sidewalk if appropriate. The cost (if any) will be what the artist and shopkeeper negotiate.

Dance crews are welcomed! Actual time of showcase is TBD.

Take Flight for Kids is a group of volunteers who take kids with disabilities, special needs, and critical illnesses flying in private aircraft. The goal is to show the kids that the sky is the limit to reaching out and overriding their perceived limitations. I have always been a fan of glass master Dale Chihuly’s work. Bay Area residents have been blessed with an exhibition of 40 years of his work at de Young Museum in San Francisco. It is the only venue for this exhibition. I was in Seattle a few years ago and wanted to buy some of his work but was afraid it would break in transport. I also love his work in the lobby of The Bellagio in Vegas. After reading a Mercury News review of the exhibit, I absolutely have to see it. I love art and particularly admire Chihuly and Marc Chagall’s work because it is so colorful and beautiful.
