Posted: Nov 30 2004, 03:22 AM
Review of Edith Morley Park
Street: 559 Campbell Technology Parkway
City: Campbell
Description: Edith Morley Park is a newer park located
on the grounds that used to be the
Winchester Drive in next to Hwy 17. It's
surrounded by tech office buildings and is
located within Campbell Technology Park,
which surrounds it.
Review Title: Secret Park with Good Facilities...Dog Friendly Too.
Overall Score: 8
(Overall Rating: 8, )
My Opinion:
Thanks to techvbjoe for introducing me to this park. I thought I knew every square inch of Campbell, but I apparently missed a large chunk of very pleasant and spacious real estate. Joe has been hosting his Volleyball Socials at this park and it's a perfect spot for fun active social get togethers.
Although the park is not small, it's not too easily found because it's located around an area where you wouldn't expect to find a park. It's right off of E. McGlincey Ln., a cross street of Union Ave. near the Campbell/San Jose Cambrian border and hidden away by industrial buildings surrounding it. It's well kept, not very crowded, and there are public restrooms available. It's dog friendly and has scooper dispensers along the walkways. I believe this is where they're planning a future dog park.
Right to the side of the park is a fenced in area serving as a public community garden for people who want to plant their own veggies, but don't have good land to plant on. I'll see if I can find more info about that.
