Review of Mountain Winery (Saratoga)
Street: 14831 Pierce Rd.
City: Saratoga
Description: The Mountain Winery is a multi-purpose facility offering a
Summer Concerts series, wine tasting, private parties, weddings,
cooking classes, and more. It's located up the hills a little in
Saratoga off of Hwy 9/Big Basin Way.

Review Title: Great Place for Outdoor Concerts
Overall Score: 8
(Overall Rating: 10, Value: 6, Fun: 10, )

My Opinion:
I've been to quite a few concerts at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga (aka the Paul Masson Mountain Winery) and have enjoyed all of them. I've sat all over the outdoor auditorium and have found that the cheapest seats are the best place to be. I actually traded down to get into the General Admission seats one time. You get some room to relax back there and the way they have their sound system set-up, the quality of the sound is actually excellent in the "cheap" seats. Of course, the seats aren't that cheap anywhere at the Winery, but it's not quite as pricey as some much crappier venues like the Warfield in San Francisco.

Carpooling up to the Mountain Winery is STRONGLY recommended for two reasons. One, you're not going to get out of paying $15 - $20 for parking because there is one parkinglot and one narrow road up a winding road to the winery where the parkinglot is. You should also remember to bring a jacket if the event stretches into the evening hours. It gets cold up there. It's high enough that you get a nice view of part of the valley and the speckles of lights of the nearby suburbs. It's fairly dark up there so you can get a decent view of the stars too.

Review Title: A nice place for a concert
Overall Score: 9
(Overall Rating: 8, Value: 10, Fun: 10, )

My Opinion:
I went to the winery for the firt time over the weekend. I saw Chris Isaak. This venue was perfect for him. He loves to get the audience involved. He is a great live singer. I was very impressed by the set up and the atmosphere. I loved the view from the winery.

I would suggest getting there at least 2 hours early so you can eat there and get decent parking. I did eat at the grille and the food was ok. The amount of food you get is not what you would think you would get for the price you pay. There is a nice restaurant there but you need to make reservations before hand and it looked pricey but a nice place to bring your significant other.

I would go again. Think next time I would bring a picnic dinner to enjoy at the picnic area the overlooks the great view.
