It seems like all of my favorite food spots are going under one by one. My favorite place to get Pho just turned into a Taqueria. Quoc Te' on Fair Oaks in Sunnyvale is no more. weep.gif

There's another Pho place that I like a lot, but I fear for their existence as well. That place is "Sunrise Noodle House" on Lawrence Expwy near Hwy 101. There aren't a whole lot of other Pho places that I know about that rank highly on my list.

Well, calling out to other Pho lovers. Where are the best Pho Noodlehouses in the South Bay?

This is a good place for pho. It is in an asian plaza that has other restaurants and a supermarket.

I'm sure I must be one of the people who love noodles. Pasta, asian noodle, and any kind of noodle. I had also been looking for a delicious pho noodle in san jose area, and the best place was a pho noodle restaurants in a asian small shopping mall on King St in San Jose. I don't remember the name of the restaurant. Their menus are written in only Vietnamese and the restaurant is small. There are always no seat in the lunch time, and have to wait.
My Second noodle restaurant is the pho hoa at Lawrence expressway and El Camino. Taste is not good, but I go this place because they open until 12:00 or 1:00am.

Hey, sheldon. If you are looking for a noodle house where makes best pho noodle soup, I cannot help you anymore. Why don't you try another kind of vietnamese noodle? I quit finding better pho noodle house, and I've been trying different noodles. Try #17 from the Sunrise noodle house at Lawrence. It comes with shrimp, squid, pork, and chicken, and it has two choices; one is a noodle soup as pho and another is a noodle without soup. They put special sauce on the noodle and gives the soup in a separate bowl. It is the most tasty noodle I eat in these days.

I love Khanh's on Winchester, across from Santana Row. It's one of my favorite restaurants. I don't usually eat pho because it would take about 20 minutes for it to be cool enough for me to eat, but I love the vermicelli. It is always fresh, unlike at Pho Hoa, which is hit and miss. I've had other things, like the spring rolls and won ton soup (get it without noodles), and those have been great as well. If you love won ton soup like I do, I also highly reccommend Hand Pull Noodle House on Capitol Expw.

Morning everyone!

What a great topic - my top pick would be Vietville Restuarant (5440 Thornwood Dr., San Jose, 95123 408-227-1752). It's a cozy familiy owned restaurant over near oakridge and the pho is truly the best i've had in the south bay (and i've tried over 30+ different places in the past 20 years). I've told people the food tastes exactly like what i remember having growing up. So not only their pho broth super flavorful and tasty, but the chicken used is thinly sliced white meat (no grissel or fatty skin) - my wife like that best about them. And on top of this, the people that own the place are super nice and the service is great, relaxed and calm - not like most noodle houses where you feel like you're dealing with the "Soup Natzi" on Seinfeld. And lastly, the cost is not bad at all (i think it's about $5-7 depending on the size you get). I'd say it's a buck or 2 more than most noodle house but if you're health concscious, this is the place to go. Oh yeah, it's a GREAT date place since you can actually hear each other there.

Now if you want a quickie meal, Pho Y over in east san jose is the way to go. Good flavor but definitely includes the hussle and bustle of a fast paced, get 'em in, get 'em out eating establishment. (1660 E. Capitol Expwy.

Bon Appetit !

pamrealtor, can you tell me how to get in the hand made pho noodle house? I haven't think of hand made pho. If you don't know the specific address, just let me know the cross street. I'm already there. :-)

The best pho noodle house is in Santa Clara on El Camino and San Tomas Expressway. It's near the Karate place there. It's called Pho Thahn Long Noodle house. I love the Pho Ga #14. One reason I love this place above the others is that they actually give you about a whole chicken breast in your soup. Many places only put a very small amount of meat into the soup. I've been dining there for 10+ years. I eat there every Saturday for lunch... and sometimes more often when I get a craving for Pho!
