Movies in the Park: Pick this Year's Films!

The New Monterey Business Association wants YOU to pick the movies for Movies in the Park 2012. It's easy as one, two, see.

ONE: Nominate. Pick three movies you'd like to see and send us the list via e-mail, through our Facebook page, or by clicking on "Add Comment" at the bottom of this post. Nominations must be received by Tuesday, May 15. Please note: all nominations should be PG-13 or below (no R-rated movies) and run less than 2 hours.

TWO: Vote. The ten most nominated movies will be voted on by the public at LighthouseDistrict.net. (Voting begins Tuesday, May 22 and ends Tuesday, June 5.)

SEE: The three movies that get the most votes will be shown this year at Movies in the Park in Scholze Park. Show dates this year are July 14, August 11, and September 8. Movies start a half-hour after sunset.

(Can anyone tell me: what is it about "The Sandlot"? I'd never heard of that film until about two years ago, and suddenly everybody started requesting to see it at local outdoor cinemas.)
