Interested in a Fiftysomething Dining Club?

Say......any interest in a 50's and change dinner group? Maybe meet at restaurant once or twice a month, or so. Each time someone else gets to pick the place, etc.

Hi Barry, we've got a lot of fiftysomethings and a few have actually approached me about doing more fiftysomething events though a couple of the requests were specifically for fiftysomething singles events.
My suggestion to gauge the interest would be to get in touch with a few members who'd fit the demographic, set up a dinner event, and then post it to see how the response is. For some reason most people here aren't very responsive to questions about if they'd be interested in something or not. If you post an event, they'll sign up, but if you ask, they seem to stay quiet most of the time.
Of course, there's always the option of being in with the regular Dinner Socials Club and then breaking off as a separate group when there's enough people of the correct demographic to sustain it.

Yes - I would be interested in a 50 and + Dining Club - However, I think Sheldon has a good suggestion on working with the new dinner club now and see what the interest will be.....I would be happy to try to gather more folks also!
Since it is summer and there are so many activities going on....it may be a bit before we gain a good group for either event.

Hi Doc and significant other,
I am very interested in a 50's dinner group, preferably higher-end dining. (I know...SNOB). Local as well as in the City, no not New York. With the free time that I have I would prefer to be in the company of my own age group, give or take a few years!
Looking forward to hearing from ???

Hello... I am interested in joining the "Fiftysomething" dinner group. I just officially joined Social Wave two weeks ago, and this would be a great way to meet others of simular age. However, I am looking forward to my first dinner outing with the regular group too.

Yes, I would love to be a part of a Fiftysomething Dining Club. I just joined recently and am looking forward to meeting people, especially around my age!
I would be happy to be part of the planning and rotate choosing a restaurant. Leslie

Yes, I would be interested in a once-a-month dinner 50+ folks at locations in our community. How many do you think we need to start with for a "1st" event?
Thanks,

I see this topic started in July and is still somehwat active. I would too be interested in making new friends, and dinner with new friends sounds fun. Count me in if we we ever get this going.

I am very interested in the Fiftysomething club. It's kinda funny that so many of the respondents are the folks I met at the Vietnamese restaurant, Citronelle, last week. I'd be happy to go out with you guys anytime. And I especially like the idea of trying the higher-end places too. How about if somebody picks a date and place to go next week and then we see what we can do to meet there.

I'm always game for get-to-gethers---just do so much of it that I occasionally can't particiipate. Since you are all in the "50s" and I have a daughter rapidly approaching that age, maybe I could be your chaperone!!!

Ok. Let's try this.
We only need 2 or 3 people to make it work and I'll be one of them! Even if you're a fiftysomething wannabe, you're welcome here.
Let's plan to meet for dinner next Tuesday, Sept.27 at 6:30PM.
Red Robin just opened in El Paseo de Saratoga. It's a fun place with something for everyone's appetite.
We can do future planning (like how we'll get the word out) there. I'll post this on the main site too and look forward to hearing from everyone.
