Review Title: Jovie Coffee & Teas is a Cozy & Comfy Hideout · Overall Score: 8

My Opinion: Jovie Coffee & Teas is somewhat of a unique hybrid of a species in the cafe' world. It has the comfy and soft touch features that you come to expect from Starbucks, but it's an independent cafe' that has the extra personality that you don't find at a chain store caffeine hookups.

In addition to the usual caffeinated beverages, Jovie offers a selection of delicious pastries, desserts, and sandwiches that come arranged artfully on a platter with side items and garnishings. They obviously don't approach their food menu like your typical cafe and the turkey cranberry sandwich that I got was a lot better than your usual coffee spot grub.

It's a shame that they're located in such a poor location because they really should be a much more popular hangout than they are. They're one of the few indie coffee shops that seems to be doing it right and they fill the uncommon niche of being a Starbuck's alternative for people who prefer the Starbuck's ambience over the din and the grunge of most independent cafes. They also offer free Wi-Fi so they're the perfect hideaway for this Web Developer when he needs to seek a change of scenery from the office.

Coming soon! Their sign alone is worth a photo. It's like a hand painted sign, but it's not It's a lighted sign in colorful letters, but there are multiple misspellings on it.

Kind of sounds like Teavana in Valley Fair.

Jovie's is wonderful!!! If you are a tea drinker (and I am), you can pick from at least 40 types of teas including decaf, expensive white teas, and exotic teas that I usually only find in Chinese herbal stores. Marie is the co-owner and very nice. On Fridays I drop in after taking my son to daycare around the corner and pickup tea and a turkey breakfast sandwich, all for only $3.

I agree, they are in a bad location so it's up to all of us independent teahouse/coffee drinkers to keep this place in business.

BTW--the name 'Jovie' was suggested to Marie by a friend of hers who lives in France

Review Title: I love Jovie's--Keep them in business!
Overall Score: 10
(: 10, )

My Opinion:
I've never drank a cup of coffee but am a big tea drinker and always feel like a second-class citizen at most other cafe's. Peet's does a good job, but then came Jovie's and just blew away all the competition. They have what seems like 40-50 types of teas from all over the world, including white, green, red, and decaf teas.
They also offer a coffee/breakfast sandwich special for $3 that they will substitute with tea. It's delicious and cheap. My son's daycare is around the corner and I'm in there most Friday's grabbing the special before heading in to work.
The owner, Marie, and her employees are all very nice and there is always a current paper and other reading materials laying around.
It's funky location (back part of the Long's mall area on San Tomas Aquino Rd. and Campbell) just means that there's always parking available.

Review Title: Jovie's
My Rating: Thumbs Up!

My Opinion: Yay for the independents!

Jovie's is tucked away in a corner in a strip mall, in the same strip mall that houses some wonderful establishments in Campbell: D&J Hobby, Tsing Tao (excellent Chinese food), Stuft pizza and a FANTASTIC donut shop whose name escapes me. Jovie's is quiet and has wifi... And it isn't Starbucks.
