What's an avatar and how do I change mine?

An avatar is a small icon that displays alongside all messages you post in the forums. It's supposed to represent you in some way. Since people quickly associate your avatar to you, it adds context to online conversations by giving others a quick visual way of identifying the speaker.

You can edit or add an avatar by going to My Account > Edit Avatar. You can also get there by finding your member profile and clicking on the \"edit avatar\" link.

If you don't have a custom image to use as your avatar, you can pick one from our public avatar library that's organized in categories. Try to pick one that's not already used. If you have your own avatar, just follow the instructions in the Upload an Avatar section to add your own custom avatar.
