Fire on Crockett Ave. in San Tomas Neighborhood
Posted: Sep 17 2006, 02:58 AM
There was a fire on Crockett Ave. last night. I hope everyone there is ok. I heard a lot of sirens scream past our house last night. After turning on our sprinklers, I walked toward the glow in the sky with my camera. I passed by a lot of worried neighbors on my way there. I ended up on the wrong side of a fence to get a good look at what happened and it looked like half the neighborhood had already made their way there so I figured they didn't need one more person getting in the way there.
The fire looked pretty big, but they seemed to put it out quickly. There was one flare up that shot sparks of fire skyward after I got there but the chainsaws were making a lot more noise than the fire hoses by that point.
Here's a photo that I got from the apartment complex bordering the end of Crockett Ave.
