Weird day. A plane crashes into a 50 story apartment building in New York. It's believed to be an accident and as if that wasn't enough of a bombshell, the person believed to be piloting the doomed plane was Cory Lidle, a one-time pitcher for the Oakland A's that was recently signed by the New York Yankees. RIP Cory Lidle. He was inconsistent, but when he was on, he was a brilliant pitcher.

I had no idea who this guy was prior to this accident because I'm not a sports fan whatsoever. I only know who athletes are if they endorse something, and if I've never heard of them, then they are probably an athlete. Nonetheless, this is a really tragic story. It evokes memories of JFK Jr.

Time magazine actually cites sources that believe there's a common thread with JFK Jr... that he may have been trying to fly too complex of a plane for his level of experience.

Isn't that usually the case in these kinds of tragic accidents? Flying a plane is far more complicated than driving a car (and many people have problems just driving a car. tongue.gif )
