Sharks Recall Goalie Thomas Greiss

Whoa! It's likely that one of the Sharks' goalies is finally going to be on the move. Unless there's an injury to Nabokov or Toskala, there's not much reason to call up a backup goalie for tomorrow night's game against Philadelphia.

Yeow! So, why are they not bringing up Nolan Schaeffer? Is it because he would have to clear waivers and they're afraid of losing him before a big trade?

Oh well...so much for excitement. It looks like they're calling Greiss up to act as a second while Nabby's injured and in a day-to-day status.

Then again, I guess it would make more sense to call up Greiss if you expect to be sending the backup goalie back down shortly. When Schaefer was with the club, they were looking harder to make a trade. It's a miracle he cleared waivers the first time. He probably wouldn't a second time.

Sounds like they called him up just for the practice yesterday. Nabby was feeling better by last night, so they stuck him in as back-up for the game. Nabby says he'll be playing Tuesday night against Anaheim.
