If you're not a hockey fan, you probably don't get what fighting is about in hockey. Fighting in Hockey is one of the most misunderstood things in modern sports. The fights are usually strategic engagements more than they're acts of pure aggression.

Someone posted a very interesting clip on YouTube of a hockey fight between Georges Laraque (Phoenix Coyotes) and Raitis Ivanans (LA Kings) on Nov 30, 2006. Phoenix was creaming LA, so Ivanans wanted to fight Laraque, to inspire his team to play better. Laraque is a tough guy's tough guy in the NHL.

Laraque happened to be mic'd up that game. Right before the bout, you hear his side of the exchange before the gloves are dropped and the fists start to fly. Ivanans seems to say something to him and he replies in a very matter of fact manner, "You want to? Ok... Good luck man."
