I am in desparate need of housing for my cats and dogs. Unfortunately our owner died and his heirs want to sell our house. I am finding the market is not pet friendly at all. I don't mind extra deposit and such, but most landlords won't take any thing bigger than 50 lbs (10lbs usually). Any recommendations appreciated.

And note to renters: Be vary carefull accummulating pets. You may be in this position soon. I never thought I would have to move when I was taking in the strays or abandoned animals. I can't think of giving them away or not being there for the last year of my older two dogs.

Joe, I'm so sorry to hear this!

Why don't you post descriptions and pictures of your furry kids? That way, people can get to know them and maybe fall in love.

The humane society maintains a list of pet-friendly rentals. When I once needed housing for myself and a large dog, we stayed at Bascom Holiday Apartments on the very north end of Bascom, a couple blocks south of where Bascom becomes Lafeyette. These are modest apartments which allow any size of dog for a small fee. Almost all the apartments had large dogs, since there is so little housing which accepts them.

BTW Mary, All my babies on already in my profile: Bluto, Popeye and Sweet Pea are my "avatar" (pic associated with ID?). Frederico Jones, Buddinski and Princess Muffin of Spotsberry are in my photos. My ex named the animals. She kept Tennessee Tuxedo, Chumly, Sweet Polly and Dink (All cats). If you know those names you are in your forties to fifties.

I have heard of Bluto et al but never heard of any of the other names. I had no idea they were references to something else. tongue.gif

I know that The Cannery apts. on Hacienda in Campbell takes pets but not sure what the restrictiosn are. And I'm not sure that your pets would want to live in an apt. But I have seen rentals on Craigslist that take pets.
