As a born and bred NorCal homer, I love it! That's hilarious!

All joking aside, the division between Northern and Southern California is more than a good natured sibling rivalry. I have a map of California from AAA dated in the late 70's. It's obviously geared toward travelers because there's a box with quick info about the state and one of the things it mentions is that Northern California and Southern California are different places and it's good to be aware of that as a cultural sensitivity.

I'm guessing that it's probably less of a real tension than it used to be, so if you want to really watch some fireworks fly, tell an Oregonian that you get better weather down here. biggrin.gif

I'll have to read the article later. But as a native South Bayer, I have to say I f'ing HATED going to So Cal a few months ago. Sitting in traffic on the freeways there just SUCKS!!! And the whole Hollywood thing is just not me. If I didn't have family there, I'd never go back. But they do have a cool store called Windsor that I don't understand why the Bay Area doesn't have. They even have locations in other states like Utah! Oh well, I'm getting too fat to wear juniors clothes for much longer.

It was a great article, but he forgot something... some places in Norcal Have parking. Not all, but some. No place in LA does.

Also, we have left turns lanes that help us drive like civilized people most
of the time.

Lived in LA for more than a year, miss one restaurant there called Jack Sprats, and my friends, but otherwise, you can forget it.

I don't think I could ever live there. What's up with their lanes being so narrow? I noticed that when I was driving around. It's like how many parts of the Peninsula do not have motion-sensored lights or wide lanes so you can make a right turn next to someone who's going straight at a red light.

wow, you all need to take your heads out of your buttholes and realize that NorCal and SoCal are both really awesome and really shitty.

Point 1: Most things known about SoCal come from television or movies. It would be really easy to develop false conceptions of the Southland. You denounce the traits of those in the top tax bracket, but forget people just like you make a living here. Normal people who don't wear uggs and actually read books. At least try to give us some credit.

Point 2: Likewise, I know you're not all pretentious shitheads. I mean, we get it, you like Neitzcezccese and the Opera. I do too! But i know you don't allllllll get down with that, shoot.

Point 3: If you're gonna compare LA to anything, it should be to the entire Bay Area, not that little tiny beautiful peninsula you're all so proud of. I think that's a little more realistic population wise. And lo and behold, I think it's something like 2 of the top 10 most crime infested areas of the country are in NorCal (Oakland and Richmond?). I don't have stats in front of me, but i'm sure you can agree, there are some hellholes in the Bay. Vallejo's going bankrupt for christ's sake! Hayward?? yuck!

Point 4: Thank you for the water! It's yummy. And hey, we'll keep the money rolling in for you guys too. You scratch our back, we'll scratch yours. Much love. flowers.gif

And whooooaaa whoa whoa, parking's a breeze in LA compared to the torture of continuous one-way streets and endless block circling! Good street names in SF though, so that makes up for it (divisadero is my fave, what's urs?).
