Does the majority of people want to be cremated or buried? What is the cost of a funeral? Anyone pay for one lately? I am getting cremated and budgeted $5000 for it.

Currently the cremation rate in our area is running about 38% overall. Of the 38% approximately 60% of those choosing cremation generally are choosing to have some type of service with the cremation. There are option of having a full traditional service followed with cremation or a memorial service (without the body present) with cremation or what is termed a "Basic Cremation" with no services.
Traditional Service with Cremation runs from around $6500 and up.
Memorial Service with cremation runs from around $4,000 and up.
Basic Cremation runs from around $2,000 and up.
The important thing these days is to able to trust who you are dealing with.
